The HEAF Continuum - Starting early on the path to success

Success happens through slow and steady progress toward a goal—which is why participation in HEAF begins in middle school and continues through high school and on to college. We call it the HEAF Continuum. At each pivotal moment in their academic careers, students have the resources they need to grow, challenge themselves and take charge of their futures.

For Grades 6-8: High Expectations
Our middle school program, High Expectations, offers students intensive academic acceleration as well as guidance to ensure admittance to the most competitive public high schools in New York City.

For Grades 9-12: College Quest
When they graduate 8th grade, students are promoted to College Quest, a leadership-based program with a strong academic focus that includes SAT test prep, service learning, writing courses and leadership opportunities.

For Grades 6-12: Youth Development and Counseling
HEAF's Youth Development uses a hands-on approach to help students gain leadership skills and a strong sense of personal direction, accountability and resiliency. Students use these newfound skills to explore different cultures, professions and community needs.

For College and Beyond: Onward
HEAF supports students with career and academic counseling once they get into college, plus we host alumni events to share our successes and network.
