Harlem Educational Activities Fund Bolsters Leadership Team <\/strong><\/p>\n Megan Campbell appointed Chief Development & External Relations Officer Harlem, New York – January 12, 2023 \u2013 Harlem Educational Activities Fund<\/a> (HEAF) today announced two key appointments that bolster the organization\u2019s leadership and help ensure HEAF can continue to close education and opportunity gaps for students from underserved communities. Megan Campbell<\/a> joined HEAF as Chief Development & External Relations Officer in November 2022. Samantha Moreno<\/a> joined HEAF as Chief Programs Officer in December 2022. They report to HEAF President & Chief Executive Officer Michael Johnson<\/a> and serve on HEAF\u2019s Leadership Team.<\/p>\n \u201cOur HEAF Leadership Team is strengthened by the addition of Megan and Samantha and poised to plot a successful future for HEAF and our students,\u201d said Michael Johnson, HEAF\u2019s President & CEO. \u201cMegan\u2019s deep expertise building and successfully executing development strategies for nonprofit organizations that support families from underserved communities and Samantha\u2019s expansive experience with college access program development uniquely position them both to drive meaningful, lasting impact at HEAF.\u201d<\/p>\n As HEAF\u2019s Chief Development & External Relations Officer, Megan Campbell leads the organization\u2019s strategic development and fundraising, which allows HEAF to provide tuition-free academic enrichment, personal development, college and career exposure, access and success to students from underserved communities. She joined HEAF from nourish.NJ Inc, where she served as Chief Development Officer and grew the footprint and impact of the organization\u2019s initiatives to address food insecurities through strategic major donor fundraising and planned, thoughtful annual and long-term development plans. Prior to that, Ms. Campbell was Development Director of Hour Children, and before that she was Executive Director of The Focus Forward Project. She holds a Master of Public Administration from New York University\u2019s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service<\/a>, a JD from Cornell Law School<\/a> and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of the Holy Cross<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m so proud to join Harlem Educational Activities Fund to lead Development and drive partnerships that will help ensure our students receive fair, equitable education and career opportunities,\u201d said Megan Campbell, HEAF\u2019s new Chief Development & External Relations Officer. \u201cHEAF\u2019s entire staff is singularly focused on bridging gaps for New York City students from underserved communities, and I look forward to helping grow our impact.\u201d<\/p>\n HEAF\u2019s new Chief Programs Officer Samantha Moreno is responsible for strategic direction and operations of the end-to-end programming for High Expectations (middle school), College Quest (high school), and Onward (college entrance, success and career support) across HEAF\u2019s campuses in Harlem, Queens and Brooklyn. Ms. Moreno joins HEAF from Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), a like-minded peer college access organization, where she was for nearly a decade, most recently as Associate Director of Programs. Prior to that she worked within the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau on a High School curriculum.
