La Borinqueña Conversation and Signing

Join us as we welcome award-winning Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez and get a signed copy of his hot-off-the-presses La Borinqueña comic book.

Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez is the writer and creator of the critically acclaimed and best-selling graphic novel La Borinqueña.

Hear how Edgardo was inspired by all the strong women in his life to create the first ever female super hero — a Columbia University undergraduate student named Marisol studying Earth and Environmental Science — she is an Afro-Boricua born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Marisol is a symbol of hope not only for Puerto Rico but for women, especially Latinas, Afro-Latinas and women of color.

Come join us for a conversation, book signing and reception. A copy of the comic book is included in the price of the event.  After the discussion, we will hold a book signing with Edgardo.

Please purchase your books or register below, a portion of the proceeds go to HEAF’s arts programming.

** Please note there will be no comic books for sale at the event. To purchase comic books prior to the event, please use the purchase book section **
