March 23, 2021 – Spectrum News NY1 featured HEAF student Angel Gomez in a segment by journalist Lori Chung marking the opening of NYC Public Schools for hybrid in-person learning following four months of remote-only due to the pandemic.  Angel talks about his excitement to return to Humanities Prep Academy, one of the city’s public schools in Chelsea, NY. Angel shares the challenges of remote-only and underscores HEAF’s programs as keeping him on track during challenging times.

“There are a lot of programs at HEAF that can help prepare you for the future,” Angel said.

HEAF Chief Program Officer Sean Harrell is also featured in the segment discussing the challenges for students like HEAF serves in keeping on track and staying ahead. Sean points to HEAF’s activities like virtual mentoring through Industry Immersion as critical.
