Celebrate Black History Month with HEAF!

During the month of February, HEAF reflected on the legacy of many important Black historical figures with our students, alumni, and our community. We planned many amazing opportunities to learn, engage and celebrate HEAF’s future history-makers, our students! We applaud all those who play a role in inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Lights on Broadway

All month long HEAF was featured on the Morgan Stanley Billboard at Times Square as part of Morgan Stanley’s Lights on Broadway Campaign! 

Barclays #Blackart

February 1, 2021 — February 23, 2021

Barclays teamed up with OpenArt during Black History Month to provide an introduction to the Art Market for Art enthusiasts and current/future investors. The event featured emerging artist Francks Deceus, and funds raised went to help support HEAF’s Arts classes and programs.

Career Conversations with Chanel’s Black Employee Collective

February 9, 2021

During this workshop, students had the opportunity to meet and network with Chanel employees from departments across the company who are members of the Black Employee Collective to hear about their career journeys and lessons learned along the way. Students also gained insights into how to network and maximize opportunities that are presented to them in various settings. The Black Employee Collective (BEC) is the first Black employee resource group at Chanel.

Power Lunches

February 18, 2021

The HEAF Virtual POWER! Lunch series was an opportunity for students to be introduced to various careers and companies, understand the potential career options available to them, and meet and network with a diverse group of professionals. This year’s virtual program consisted of career conversation series with professionals from different industries, as well as skill-building workshops where students practiced and hone their professional skills.


 Connecting the Dots to Success with Deloitte

  • HEAF students had the chance to meet and network with employees from the Deloitte Black Leadership Forum to learn about life at Deloitte as well as hear employees’ own stories and experiences from their college and career journeys.
  • About Deloitte’s Black Leadership Forum: BEN BRG provides a forum for all professionals with similar interests and/or experiences to meet, share information, and collaborate.

Career Conversations: Meet the Legal Team at Goldman Sachs

  • Program Description: This program was ideal for students interested in learning more about career possibilities in the legal field. Students received an introduction to the intersection of finance and law, gain key insights into the Goldman Sachs culture, and had the opportunity to network with professionals from the firm’s legal team.

Own Your Story + Build Your Brand with CHANEL

  • Who you will meet: The HEAF Power Lunch spotlighted people from varying areas of Chanel, who shared what they do and the career paths that got them there. We also introduce our students to two different CHANEL Employee Resource Groups, including the Anti-Racism Alliance and the Black Employee Collective.
